3. Exercise

Today I played tennis twice; from 8:30-10 am and then again from 2-3:30 pm. when I played with Martsie and chatted with Ashley who admitted that she 'learned everythinng from my mom," a comment I shared with her mom. It was very fun and great exercise.
On one show, Oprah admitted that she did not enjoy exercise, "No one likes getting up at 5 am and getting on the treadmill." True, I agree. But, I do LOVE to play tennis and it is great exercise. I decided the key is to choose exercise that is fun and you enjoy. Both my girls and my hubby play tennis also so it is a family game that we can play at home and on vacation. I love to exercise and I love to relax and rest afterwards.
"I have never taken any form of exercise except sleeping and resting."

2. Gratitude

"The Gratitude journal truly changed my life," said Oprah. I began to write in my own gratitude journal after I saw Sarah Ban Breathnach and her Simple Abundance book chat on Oprah's show many years ago. She challenged each viewer to write five things you are grateful for each day. I started well and then dribbled off as I usually do. However, I look back and still smile. I notice that what I am truly grateful for are words not connected with money: loving husband, happy children, warm home, good food, playing tennis, good friends, sisters . . . the list goes on. Today I am grateful for having a job when there are so many people out of work. Sometimes I complain about waking up so early to go to work every day, but I need to be grateful to even have a job in these tough times.

"Gratitude is the heart's memory"

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life"

1. Resolve

I resolve to write a daily blog in 2010 to thank Oprah for all the lessons I've learned through watching, reading and listening. This is Oprah's twenty-five year and I resolve to give thanks for all the lessons learned over the years. Each day Oprah has interviewed, showcased, promoted, inspired, educated and entertained. "I can write a blog, I have thoughts," said Julie, from Julie/Julia. I have learned a great deal over the Oprah years; and have been profoundly and positively affected by her media presence.

"Let us resolve to do the best we can with what we've got"
William Feather (1889-1981)
